Global Pathways Málaga
BravoPlus’s Global Pathways Málaga initiative is a fully funded international immersion program serving African American and Latino high school students ages 16–18 from underserved communities in South Florida. Each year, approximately 90 students participate in a two-week homestay and cultural study experience in Málaga, Spain, designed as an immersive introduction to global citizenship, language development, and leadership growth.
The program intentionally prioritizes students who have historically lacked access to international education and is structured to be fully accessible regardless of financial means. During the two-week experience, participants engage in daily Spanish language immersion, cultural workshops, historical site visits, community engagement activities, and guided leadership reflection, while sharing a structured, communal experience that fosters independence, cross-cultural understanding, resilience, and mutual support.
Walking the Way
BravoPlus’s Walking the Way initiative is a five-year pilot program serving Catholic students ages 16–18 from the Archdiocese of Miami. Each year, approximately 20 students participate in a two-week pilgrimage on the Portuguese Route of the Camino de Santiago, designed as an immersive introduction to historic Christian practices.
The program intentionally welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, including underserved and minority Catholic communities, and is structured to be fully accessible regardless of financial means. During the pilgrimage, participants engage daily in Eucharistic worship, Morning and Evening Prayer, guided reflection on Scripture, and catechetical formation, while sharing a simple, communal way of life marked by physical challenge, hospitality, and mutual support.
